The first step on the road to homeownership is to attend one of our accredited Homeownership Education Classes. Taught by certified instructors, the class will prepare you to become a successful homeowner and will give you the information and tools necessary to make sound decisions. Topics covered include preparing for homeownership, money management, understanding credit, obtaining the right mortgage and choosing a home. Classroom participants report that they experience improved financial stability and successful homeownership.
Community professionals including lenders, real estate professionals, title companies, tax experts and home inspectors assist with the classes. This provides participants with the opportunitity of direct contact with representatives of the entire homeownership lending and purchasing.
Classes are broadcast to remote locations including field offices, partners or individual computers as requested. This means that people residing in all areas of the state may "attend" class from home or another convenient location and ask questions of the speakers the same as attending in the classroom. In addition, classroom segments are recorded and made available for those who would like to review a particular subject at a later date.
After completion, you will receive a certifcate making you eligible for special loan products and programs.
